Ans:- Aims and objectives of UN in maintaining world peace-

(i) To maintain international peace and security.

(ii) To establish friendly relations among the nations.

(iii) To make efforts to solved economic, social and humanitarian problems.

(iv) To being all the nations on the one stage to achieve the above mentioned ends and bring co-ordination among their efforts.


14. How peace can be secured?

Ans:- Since peace is the basic need of humanity and the world and the first and foremost condition of peace to avoid wars and in case the wars start to limit and to end these. Famous scholar Hans J. Morgenthaw in his book ‘Politics Among Nations’ has given three suggestion to prevent and limit war. These are:

(i) Peace through limitations:- Under this Morgenthaw his suggested devices like collective Security, Disarmament and judicial decisions etc. 

(ii) Peace through transformation:- Under this, Morgenthou includes establishment of world state and world community.

(iii) Peace through accommodation:- This means maintenance of peace through diplomacy.

Besides the above, efforts should also be made to remove hunger, poverty, unemployment, sickness, illiteracy and exploitation and social and economic inequalities. These factors also can disturb peace in the world.
