1.What is your impression of the neighbourhood where Bina Kutir is located?
Ans:- Traditionally, people live in Assam type house like Bina Kutir but with the advent of modernist building, have been constructed everywhere. Bina Kutir was in the midst of the different newly concreted building which had iron rods propped out haphazardly in different directions. They had stairs and tiny vernadas, The RCC building taking up the whole space of the land but bina kutir not like that, it is spacious having graccy front and backyard where people can breath free.
- What does the presence of treade and commercial establishments signify regarding the growth pattern of city life depicted in ‘Bina Kutir?
Ans:- The author depicted the changes found in the city where Bina Kutir was located fully surrounded by commertial godowns, crown and the honking of the vehicles. The presence of trade and commertial establishments signifies the economical and social growth of the city. This was made possible because of sudden and unplant entry of Punjabi and Marwari communities who came essentially as ‘business people. This led to an increased flow of income and revenue which played a significant role in the raise of a new income class that vouched for modernity, globalisation, urbanism and progress. - How does the narrator use the Coca-cola bottle to facilitate the flight of the narrator’s imagination in the story?
Ans:- The narrator uses the coca-cola bottle to facilitate his imagination in intresting your way. The hot and humid season caused the speaker to increasingly visit the neighbouring stationary shop that kept coca-cola bottles, the frequent visits led to the the speaker engaging in conversation with the shopkeeper regarding a Assam type house which he liked. But no one could give him the exact information about his house but his desires to stay there led him to create the past and present of the house as well as the life and personality of its residence. So, to show the urge and passion live in Bina Kutir, the author uses the coca-cola bottle repeatedly in the story to give his imagination a visual representation and make it more vivid and real. - What plans do the two sons have regarding commercial growth mentioned towards the end of the story?
Ans:- According to the author, the elder brother is a professor and writes book so he was planning to have a publication house in the Bina Kutir. While the younger one is a doctor. He wants to construct a huge RCC building and give it to rent with his own chamber in the ground floor. - Comment on the significance of the title of the story “Bina Kutir.
Ans:- The story ‘Bina Kutir’ resolves throughly with the Assam type single storey house which the speaker encountered in his search for a new rented place for himself. The house is an dilapidated house that stood in between a motley assembly of newly constructed concrete building whose iron rods propped out in all direction. The main attraction of the house was fully covered with the rare bina plant. The narrotor for his own imaginative purpose gave the name ‘Bina Kutir’. It is for the flowers name sake that the speaker named it and the follow up of ‘Kutir’ means the house. Which is small in size and is there for seen as cottage. It becomes apparent in the story ‘Bina Kutir’ how in the modern era, the eternal values have degraded coming into contect with newly form city-centric cash-all mentality.
The new interest of the residence in the speaker caused several conversation between him and several other neighbours and shopkeepers all of which created mistry and more curiosity in the house and the people living in them. In this attempt, we are shown the varied themes of generation gap, materialism, traditional view verses moderenity, love, family, conflict, urbanity, comercialism and globalisation that seem to be drastically changing the socio-cultural milieu of Assam. - How much of the narrator’s speculation do you think is responsible for the characterisation in the story?

We can see how vividly the narrator’s speculation of the characters has been taken over throughout the study. The narrator’s speculation can provide in sight into a character’s thought, motivations, emotions that might not be explicitly stated through their actions. By offering interpretations and judgements, the narrator helps guide the reader’s perception of his characteres, their relationships and the overall narrative. The speculation can be based on the narrator’s observations, knowledge or bisages. In the storey, the narrator had introduced the characters through his own imagination which was based on his own observations, information he collected and added this own by all speculation which may not be real.
